All in everyday

the monday edit

happy monday! i finally feel like i’m getting my life together after my trip, the exhaustion hit every part of my body, but my bed has felt like a dream. our family has been completely hibernating, enjoying the chance to just lay low at home, snuggle on the couch (and stay warm), and to plan our little guy’s birthday party next weekend.

i love creating that magic in the house, leaning into the holidays, feeling grateful for my little family, but also taking every second i can to soak in the season with my children. this year in particular, whether its working in retail and thinking about holiday for months, or just feeling the season calling early, i was ready.

whether its the chaos all over the place, or just life, i’m craving quiet. carving out some time for myself, to take care of myself and my family. that said, i’m feeling the holiday energy early this year, nestling into a cozy end of fall and start to winter. it’s harry potter season, cozy candles, favorite sweats, dreamy sweaters, and comfort movies.

fall is my favorite time of year. there is something so magical to me about the way the sunlight threads through the leaves, and changes every day with the colors of the leaves changing. the first crisp bite in the air always brings me joy, and the perfect excuse to dig out my favorite sweaters, slippers, and socks.

since we got home, the weather has been super moody, with misty and rainy mornings, and gray evenings. it feels quite spooky, despite hardly being october yet. i’m looking forward to that crisp and bright fall sunshine to really make the season pop.

we’re so excited to travel up to lake placid this week, visit with friends and family along the way. lake placid is one of our favorite places, and the chance to visit with family is an opportunity we’d never miss.

i took a lot of time away this summer to fully soak up the summer, focusing on the kids and work and i’m still in shock how quickly not only that it’s september, but also that this summer has basically come and gone.

this week

it has been a bit crazy the past couple of weeks, between a long holiday weekend, a snow storm giving us two snow days with the kids, both kids getting hit with a virus this past week, and celebrating wade’s birthday. our family mantra has quickly become “cozy cozy” as we have been snuggling into the couch, watching movies, reading books, and staying warm and comfortable.

this week

school is closed today for the holiday, so we have a bonus day home with the kids. maya wasn’t feeling great friday coming home from school, so we really leaned into a quiet weekend. we watched lots of football, ate some of our favorite dinners, and went on lots of walks for coco.

i’ve spent a lot of time the past couple of weeks getting organized and excited for the new year. i’ve been diving deep into book lists, recipes, shopping for clothes, and refreshing bits all over the house. it has felt so good to get organized, or clear out some of the baby things we have, but also feeling like the house is refreshed.
