fall is my favorite time of year. there is something so magical to me about the way the sunlight threads through the leaves, and changes every day with the colors of the leaves changing. the first crisp bite in the air always brings me joy, and the perfect excuse to dig out my favorite sweaters, slippers, and socks.
as fall creeps in and we transition to cooler temps, i love the formula of perfect sweater, great denim, and a ballet flat.
since we got home, the weather has been super moody, with misty and rainy mornings, and gray evenings. it feels quite spooky, despite hardly being october yet. i’m looking forward to that crisp and bright fall sunshine to really make the season pop.
we’re so excited to travel up to lake placid this week, visit with friends and family along the way. lake placid is one of our favorite places, and the chance to visit with family is an opportunity we’d never miss.

i took a lot of time away this summer to fully soak up the summer, focusing on the kids and work and i’m still in shock how quickly not only that it’s september, but also that this summer has basically come and gone.

this outfit has been on repeat all summer, especially those really hot days, that i just want to feel chic, but not have clothes sticking to me in the dc humidity. the stripes instantly make me feel more pulled together, but especially with the linen, which feels summery and feminine, but is breezy.
its perfectly oversized and great for work, with classic slim black pants and loafers. i also love tossing it over a tank top and shorts on the weekends, or with leggings when i’m home and lounging.
i’m definitely a girl who loves a good tee with a good jean, but adding a fun and light summer blazer to it feels like the perfect addition for work.
any day i can wear jeans to work, i love to pull out my whites, before my littles can completely wreck havoc. i love a sleeveless sweater for summer and even though i bought this last year, i linked other favorites here. i paired with black sandals today, even though they’re not photographed.
friday friday friday! i am so happy it’s friday. i had a big category presentation today to report out on spanish wine, specifically albarino. it was a lot of prep, but i presented, felt great, and i’m so happy to relax the rest of this weekend.
so here’s to the weekend, pizza nights, good wine, and all the things i’m loving this week.
