Life Lately

Good morning! I have been itching to write this for a while, and every time I’ve gone to sit down, something else has inevitably come up. To say that the start to this year has been a bit crazy would probably be an understatement, but here we are, living in the happy, joyful, crazy.

As the adage goes, “life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans”, and so it has. While we were hoping to buy a house before the end of this year, an amazing house popped up that we couldn’t pass up. We fell in love instantly, full of charm, history, and ready to make new memories with our littles.

Since seeing the house, closing on the house, and moving into the house, we have had our hands full, and are finally seeing the light at the end of our surprise tunnel. We are settling in, replacing lights, fixing up little things, and making our home ours, which feels surreal and brings me such an immense amount of joy.

The creativity, the excitement of making decisions, watching our children make spaces their own, is nothing short of wonderful. I’m constantly inspired, excited to do more, and also completely exhausted.

In the midst of all of this, I had my annual work trip, and have yet to feel like anything is caught up. Spending time in Portugal reminded me how incredible the wine industry is, and how beautiful our planet is. The terraces, vineyards, and wine made in the Douro Valley feels miraculous, seeing steep terraces and harsh conditions produce something so beautiful is humbling.

All of this to say, it’s been an exciting start to the year, leaning into our year of the fire horse. I’ve also barely had a chance to sit still, but I’m craving this again, and sharing everything that is coming with this next chapter. Plus, it’s spring, and life is peeping back out. I’m inspired and so excited to be back!
