what i loved in july
i am writing this completely shocked that it is already august, and having soaked up an entire month of pure summer.
summer staples:
summer is one of my favorite times to get dressed, and this year has been no exception. i have been leaning staples and outfits that make me feel good, with great accessories. these outerknown tanks are so good; the weight of the fabric and length is perfect, plus i love where the scoop lands. they are also perfect for pairing with my some of my favorite shorts and pants from j.crew.
on the more dressy side, i’ve been loving this dress from loft. it hangs perfectly and is so comfortable, and light; perfect for DC summer. pairs so great with a navy blazer, or a raffia hat, both of which are i’ve loved this month.
meanwhile, it wouldn’t be summer without a great pair of sunnies, and i have been living in these warby parkers.
other bits and bobs from july:
in skincare and beauty, my first favorite of the month was my new perfume. maison louis marie is one of my favorite brands and i love the cassis scent for summer. its floral and warm and it feels so bright. in skincare, this mask is a dream. it revives my skin and i wake up feeling so dewy.
we have traveled a lot this month, but i’e also been loving elevating little moments when we are home. these linen napkins are a favorite; i’ve easily rebought these two to three times. i love how they hold up. the texture is beautiful and the color is perfect. we’ve also been getting a lot of mileage out of this tablecloth. i love zara home, and the details on this are beautiful.
i also live for summer reading. i have been craving a handful of different types of books, but the past couple of weeks have really been highlights. first and foremost, i loved jenny jackson’s first novel, and her second, the shampoo effect, has me completely in it’s grip. i am completely savoring this one. while i’m relishing my pure summer escapism, annabel monaghan has me completely in her grip. i devoured both nora goes off script and dolly all the time, and loved every minute of both. i’m also in the middle of the burning side, and it is fantastic. every character is beautifully written and i keep catching myself unable to put it down.
