the monday edit

happy happy monday! i am still recuperating from what was an amazing weekend. we went to atlanta for a family wedding which was so much fun. the kids went on a plane for the first time, and absolutely loved it. they behaved like they’ve done it a million times before. i was so proud and felt so excited for the prospect of all of our travel we can plan with them.

we spent a spooky friday playing hooky together, went out to lunch, took naps, trick or treated, and did all of the spooky hunting (aka finding any halloween house possible). the rest of the weekend was full of playdates, playgrounds, harry potter, and snuggles on the couch.

this is the week! maya is brimming with excitement for halloween and actually trick or treating and everything that will come with it. her school has a halloween parade, and early dismissal, so friday will feel like a real holiday. we can’t wait. bring on the treats.

happy happy monday! i can’t believe how quickly this weekend went. we felt like fall and halloween are in the air, in that magical, slightly spooky, but also cozy and happy way. we have a neighborhood house that leans heavily into the decor, and the kids love checking what they add every day. we also popped by a local nature center for a halloween party, and my children were thriving.

the rest of the week and should fly, though don’t short weeks always somehow drag? we shall see. we have a quiet upcoming few weeks which we are thrilled about, and planning to start really planning halloween and fall activities.

happy monday! what a week we had. not only was wade out of town, but we had a few different little fire drills, including an extra trip to the pediatrician. always fun to manage through those things, but we made it, we had an amazing and quiet weekend home, and get to finally just enjoy fall.

october is my favorite time of the year! the beginning of fall starting to creep in, the crips mornings, crunchy colorful leaves, and moody evenings. while i’m always a bit sad to see summer go, i am very ready for fall and quietly laying low the rest of the year.

tgif! and we had a normal week; still busy, but more normal. everyone was home, everyone went to school every day, and it was “normal”. i say this knowing i was out one night for work, took a late call for work one night (thank you time change to australia) and my husband is gone monday and tuesday for work next week, so i’m taking the win where i can.

despite the crazy week, we had a great weekend. a quiet friday night, happy hour at taco bamba, a birthday party, farmers market, gardening, football, and maya officially became a ballerina, starting ballet class this weekend.

happy friday! i don’t know about you but i am so ready for the weekend. this week was warm, cool, sunny, rainy, and i had a day of travel, to and from new york city, in a day. all this to say there was a lot of creativity in getting dressed this week.

happy monday! i’m currently spending a quick day in NYC, speaking on a panel for work. this weekend was a long, albeit entertaining one. we spent the weekend potty training, and if you’re a parent, you can imagine how wiped we are.

this week was our first real week back, with maya starting at a new school, and everyone back to work and routine. it was lovely, and maya is really loving her new school. looking ahead to this week, we were thrilled for a low key weekend and quietly coming down from the past month.

we have had such a wild summer, and year, frankly, and i’ve loved that this weekend in particular, we were able to do what we loved with the people we loved, without getting in a car for more than 40 minutes. we barbecued, made new friends, ran a race (kids included), went to a baseball game, watched fireworks, snuggled on the couch, and ate so many snacks.

it’s been a summer of building core memories, sharing the magic of our favorite places with them, watching them jump full tilt into lake placid, exploring the river with friends, mastering the water balloon fight strategy, losing full days at the pool, perfecting our dance moves, and eating all of the popsicles. this was such a wild, but special summer, and it felt so good to be fully present and enjoying summer.

another monday! im getting ready for another work trip to spain and france, and i leave next saturday. i’m plotting my outfits, planning for spring europe in wine regions (i.e. cool evenings, warm days, potential for rain and wind, and everything in between). the fun part is that i don’t need my winter coat, get to lean into cotton skirts, dresses, sweaters, blazers and chic sneakers.

we’re day dreaming about summer vacations and sneaking to the beach, lake and visiting friends. whether it was the promise of good weather this weekend, feeling slightly less chaotic all week, or just because, i was feeling super inspired this week. i had so much fun diving into some of my favorites, including substacks i love, pinterest, and good talks with friends, i was feeling all of the things and i feel even more excited to get creative again. more to come there…

because it was such a busy and borderline chaotic week, we prioritized a quiet weekend, with lots of time playing duplos, watching the masters, and braving the cool weather for a walk or two. we popped into this great butterfly exhibit locally, that maya absolutely adored. we capped that with a morning at the park with friends, bagels, carousels, and train rides.
